ATC Forum enables the international Air Traffic Management community and associated stakeholders to meet annually and focus on the challenges and opportunities in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

The event will also include a high level conference which provide a crucial networking and knowledge sharing opportunity for industry professionals delivering a safe and efficient air transport system today and in the future. It will provide a platform to encourage co-operation and collaboration across the region and between stakeholder groups.

Rakhmanov has two higher economic educations and has worked in civil aviation since 1999.  He was awarded with the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, Honorary Diplomas of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).

During his leadership SE "Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia" he was the first among CIS countries which been awarded with "Honorary sign" of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).

Ongoing projects:

Name of project: The program of development and modernization of air traffic management systems of the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia" under the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz republic until 2020.

Purpose: Modernization and re-equipping the air traffic services system and determination the enterprise development strategy in the light of the elaboration of the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2020.

Ibrahim Thoha

General Manager, Air Traffic Management, Maldives Airports Company Ltd.

Mr. Ibrahim Thoha is an airport professional with over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. He began his career in 1989 as an Air Traffic Control Officer (Trainee) of Maldives Airports Authority (MAA). He continued his profession uninterrupted when MAA was re-established as Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) in 1994 by the government of Maldives as a financially and administratively independent company.

Within two decades, he rose steadily through the air traffic services ranks of MACL, up to his current position of General Manager, Air Traffic Management. In his present capacity, he is required to oversee and manage the provision of air traffic services by MACL who, as an Air Navigation Service Provider, has been granted exclusive rights for air traffic services provision within the Maldives airspace by the Maldivian Civil Aviation Authority.

During the course of his profession, he participated in numerous trainings, seminars, meetings and workshops; including a number of technical courses within his area of expertise, as well as exposure visits to several overseas ATC Service Providers.

Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airport operators are facing increasing pressure from airspace users and are challenged to modernise air traffic control services to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve performance and safety.

For almost a century, a symbolic image of an airport had been the control tower from which air traffic controllers monitor flights taking off, coming in to land and taxiing to and from the terminal. The scene is changing at many airports around the world with “virtual” Air Traffic Control (ATC) towers now becoming a reality.
